The Lamb Symbolism: Why Is It Close To Divinity

The lamb is not the most prominent animal out there. It is docile and often idle.

It is one of the reasons why a lot don’t see it as a great spirit animal.

But fret not. The quality of the spirit animal and the symbolism it possesses do not necessarily reflect their natural traits.

The lamb is a powerful spirit animal. It is not powerful, but it always has the capability to change someone’s life for the better. In fact, the lamb is one of the most iconic creatures in Christianity and other forms of religions.

Here, we are going to explore the lamb as an as a spirit animal and why you should consider it in the first place.

Lamb Symbolism

The symbolism of lamb is quite promising. It holds the very keys that would unlock you as a person that is ready enough to take on the challenges of this world.

Just like I said, the lamb is not a domineering creature in the wild. In fact, you can see this creature being placed on the bottom of the food chain. However, it would be best if you did not treat it too lowly. It is not as pathetic as others see it.

You should revere it instead. The creature is magnificent in its own right. It is reverberating with the ambience of positivity. In fact, some of its spiritual implications can actually help you change the course of your life.

Here are some of the common themes that are found within the context of the spirit animal we call the lamb.

Sure enough, the lamb is the one that represents the innocence in our hearts and minds. The world has been long corrupted. Of course, we were tainted with that as well. Most of us have become cynical and pessimistic because of the negative things we have seen or experienced.

When the lamb becomes your spirit animal, it wants you to uncover that innocence that you have long forgotten. It wants you to remember all your ideals and inspirations when you were still a child.

Despite the harshness of this world, the lamb wants you to rekindle your hope and determination. It is a reminder that you have to stop being so negative about this world. There are still some good things that you need to discover and protect.

If you will not rejuvenate your youthful innocence, there’s no way you can do these tasks.

The lamb is also a symbolism for your ability to conform to the standards of society. Just like what I said earlier, a sheep or a lamb is a docile creature. They tend to follow the herd. Furthermore, they also like to move in a flock, which indicates their total obedience to the rules that are imposed on them.

Being compliant with these laws and policies of this world is quite beneficial. It protects you from certain dangers and unwanted stipulations. While others see that being rebellious as a form of expressing freedom, there’s still nothing wrong if you will become obedient, especially to the local laws and ordinances.

Of course, the conformity of the lamb is essential in the makings of a strong family. The lamb follows its herd. It also obeys its shepherd. In your life, this aspect directly relates to how you treat your parents and elders. If you fulfil most of their wishes, they will be grateful to you. They will exchange your obedience with spiritual and material blessings.

If you are going to the opposite, then there’s a good chance that they will estrange you to the family. You will become the “black sheep” and will be treated with contempt. But of course, there are certain circumstances that pushed people to rebel. However, in most cases, you should just try to become obedient at all times.

In this way, you will avoid those curses that are stated in the Bible.

Keep in mind that the lamb is still prey to many predators out there. That’s why it requires constant protection from its shepherds. Of course, it is one of the reasons why they like to move in a flock. The greater their number is, the more they can feel protected.

In our life, the sheep indicates the parts and aspects that we are vulnerable to. Even if we say that we are strong and possess indomitable spirits, that doesn’t mean that we are impregnable. All of us have weak points. And if left unguarded, our enemies can easily exploit them.

One of the weaknesses that I want to highlight here is temptation. Many people are not immune to various temptations. Of course, all of us are challenged by different kinds of temptations, such as vices and immoral acts. If we don’t guard our heart to them, we can easily fall victim to them. And most of the time, they don’t give off good results.

Lamb Symbolism In Christianity

It has been long established that the lamb represents Christ.

In Genesis 22:8, God instructed Abraham that he sacrificed his own son. Abraham complied and brought Isaac to the altar. Before the sacrifice happened, God stopped him. “God will provide himself the lamb for a burnt offering,” the verse said. Instead of his son, Abraham sacrificed a ram instead. In this particular context, the lamb has been introduced as the perfect sacrifice.

It was further emphasized in the Book of Exodus, where God instructed the Israelites to sacrifice the lamb at the Passover. This tradition has repeated since then.

All of this are just indications that the true Lamb will still be arriving.

John the Baptist proclaimed that Jesus Christ is the Savior, saying “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29)

With all of these things stated, it is pretty clear that the lamb symbolism is all about positivity and holiness. It wants us to be pure in our ways and ensure that we don’t incline to evil thoughts and aspirations. If you want to have a peaceful and secure life, you should replicate the traits of the lamb.

That’s it for now. If you have questions about spirit animals and their symbolism, feel free to drop them in the comment section below.
